Welcome to your virtual library!  BPL is everywhere you are with cool mobile apps available 24/7 from many handheld devices.  From accessing your library account to downloading eBooks to viewing specialized resources, our mobile apps are certain to educate, inform and inspire.

Bentonville Public Library now offers a mobile app for smart-phones (iPhone and Android) that will provide you access to BPL’s catalog of items.  You can search for a title, place a request/hold, renew an item or check your account status on loans, requests/holds and fines.  And the best part... it's free!  So, go ahead.  With just a few clicks, Bentonville Public Library is everywhere you are!  Learn more about Bentonville Library's LS2 Mobile App.

 EBSCO HostEBSCOhost

Ebsco’s free mobile app provides access to magazine and journal articles.  A powerful research tool for students, educators, general use, research and professionals in the medical, business, legal and information industries.

The EBSCOhost app for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android Devices is available for download from the iTunes app store and the Android Market.  After downloading the app, it must be authenticated from the EBSCOhost or EBSCO Discovery Service interface.

To authenticate the EBSCOhost app:

Log into EBSCOhost.

  1. Click the EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications link at the bottom of the page and enter your email address.

Note: You must use an email address that you can access from your device.

An email with an authentication key is sent to you.

  1. Access the email from your device and click the link found in the email to authenticate the application.

You have 24 hours to access the key from your device to authenticate the app. If the key is not used within 24 hours, it expires and you will need a new key.

Notes:

Once it is authenticated, the app can be used for nine months, after which you must send yourself a new authentication key from the EBSCOhost interface.  The app is authenticated to the profile from which you emailed yourself the authentication key. To access a different profile from the app, click the EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications link from within the new profile and complete the authentication steps.

Gale’s AccessMyLibrary Public Edition provides reliable information from current magazines, journals, encyclopedias, how-to guides and more.  Subjects include health care, environment, biographies, career choices, car repair, literature, news, science and more.  Access My Library uses your global position to locate libraries within a 10-mile radius, then will give you access to online resources.  This mobile app is free.

 Library2Go!Library2Go! Powered by Overdrive

Download eBooks, audiobooks, videos and music to your computer, eBook reader or handheld device.  Bentonville Library partners with 14 regional public libraries to provide this service to all library patrons with an active library card, for free!  To access Library2Go! on your smart phone, download the free mobile Overdrive app!  Login Required:  Library Barcode & PIN.  For more information, visit BPL’s Help with eBookspage.  MangoMango Languages Library Edition

Get free access to more than 34 foreign language courses and 14 English as a second language courses through your local library account.  Mango makes learning a new language fast, easy and incredibly effective.  To use this free app, you must access via BPL’s site and establish a profile on Mango Languages.  Currently, this app is only available from iTunes.

 Text a Librarian

An app is not required for this mobile service!  With Text a Librarian, patrons can ask questions by sending text messages with their mobile phones and our reference librarian will answer back via text message.

Available during library business hours.  Standard text messaging rates apply.

To send us your question:

1)  Text HeyBPL to 66746 from your mobile phone

2)  Instructions are sent to your phone, such as:

Success!

Reply to this text w/ your question or msg for the Librarian.

Save 66746 in your phone as “HeyBPL” in case you are asked for it later.
