About Our Services

Patrons may request items to be placed on hold for future pickup at Bentonville Library, at no cost.  Patrons may place items on hold through the online library catalog, which can be accessed from home or by using the catalog terminals in the library, via a telephone request or through our mobile app

Patrons are limited to a maximum hold amount of 30 items (books, magazines, DVDs, music CDs) and 5 Library2Go! items on their account at one time.   For patrons entering online holds on available items, there is a limit of 5 items per day.  Please note it may take a few hours to process these requests. 

Teachers who require in-depth assistance, or wish to reserve a subject-specific collection for in-library use for your students, please contact the children's department for assistance at 479-271-6713 or email spekel@bentonvillear.com.

How to Reserve Items

When viewing the record of the item you wish to hold, click Request.  You will be prompted to enter your library card/PIN or EZ Log On.  Upon logging in, you may be prompted to click I want the first available copy or I want a specific copy.  Select your response and click Submit Request

If you want a specific copy, click I want a specific copy, then check the box near the specific copy.  Click Submit Request

Notifications

An automated email and/or text message (if equipped) will be sent notifying the patron of an arrived hold, along with a courtesy telephone call. 

Patrons have 3 library business days, including Saturday, after the day the courtesy telephone call to pick up their hold items.  Any expired holds may be subject to a cost-recovery service fee. 

In order to fairly share our collections across all patrons, Bentonville Library reserves the right to limit the number of items and/or the holds service, if necessary. 

Pick Up Items

The Self-Service Pick-up area is located near the Large Print books.  Items are shelved under the patron's last name.  Hold items must still be checked out.
